Cosmetic Teeth Whitening

Are you looking for a whiter smile? Cosmetic Teeth Whitening can help!

Your smile is important…it’s one of the first things people notice when they meet you. A brighter, whiter smile can help you feel better about yourself and leave a lasting impression.

What causes tooth discolouration?

There are many causes of tooth discolouration. Some of the most common include aging, smoking, red wine, coffee or tea, as well as other heavily-pigmented foods and beverages.

Who may benefit from cosmetic teeth whitening?

Almost everyone. However, there are some cases where the treatment may not be as effective. Tetracycline (antibiotic) discolourations and artificial dental work usually do not respond as greatly to dental bleaching.

Are you afraid to try cosmetic teeth whitening because you have sensitive teeth?

Our Sensitive Formula uses a smaller percentage of hydrogen peroxide combined with carbamide peroxide (a more gentle yet effective perioxide).

How long does the treatment take?

The cosmetic teeth whitening appointment consists of 3 consecutive sessions where the whitening gel is applied to the teeth and then processes for 15-20 minutes under an LED light before rinsing and reapplying the gel.

How long does the whitening last?

This depends on the person’s habits and the porosity of their teeth. The results will normally last between 6 months and 2 years. Touch-ups are recommended every 6 to 12 months, or a take-home touch-up pen is available for an additional $25.

Will teeth whitening work on crowns, veneers, or composite fillings?

No. Teeth whitening will only work on natural teeth.

Why do I have to be on a White Diet?

Following your Cosmetic Teeth Whitening appointment, the pores of your enamel are open and this makes them extremely vulnerable to any staining agents.  Once the pores close, which usually happens 24-48 hours after the procedure, you can resume your normal eating habits.

What is a White Diet?

It is strongly recommended to avoid foods or liquids that contain staining agents that could discolour your teeth such as Coffee, Tea, Red Wine, Beets, Tomato sauce, smoking, etc.
